College Station, TX

Amanda Lynne grew up in Friendswood, Texas. She owes much of her direction in art by her teacher, Ms. Mosley who grew tired of her doodling. She introduced Amanda to Betsy Miller who would cultivate her love of art. Betsy taught her pastels and pottery. Eventually she would become her assistant and help teach other young artist the joys of art. Amanda was also heavily influenced by the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Student Art Contest. Her high school teachers, Mrs. Nimitz and Mrs. Sundrla, encouraged her to continue competing. She received 4 Best of Shows and a Scholarship. Much of her style embodies Georgia O'Keefe and many of the impressionist artist: her favorite Degas, Monet and Van Gogh.

Instead of pursuing her passion in art through college, she had developed a passion for Agriculture and set her sites on Texas A&M University. Being inspired by her workings in agriculture for her artwork she pursued an Animal Science degree from the university. While attending the Texas A&M she met her future husband.

They moved away to Hondo, Texas where he practiced as a veterinarian. She participated in the Hondo Art League and won Best of Show in the County Fair in 2009. She enjoyed her time near the Hill Country but began to pursue another career; she became a registered nurse. She studied at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Upon graduating she had her first child, Luke, and then moved back to College Station with her husband.

Since her return to College Station, Amanda and her family have grown to a family of five: adding on with Emma and Abigail. She began her nursing career as a wound care nurse and now specializes as a Certified Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurse. Being a full time mom, wife and nurse she has found little time to paint, but with her support of her husband (and still constant nagging) he built her a studio that he encourages her to go and spend time. When she is inspired, her studio is waiting for her along with her favorite glass of wine to sip on. Her passion of Agriculture and western life still live on in her dreams and her artwork. She hopes you can find God's grand revelation in his creation and in her artwork and finding new ways to paint.
