Chunbum Park

Chunbum Park, a South Korean artist, delves into the realm of fantasy through her figurative paintings, exploring her experiences as a trans woman. Her art also reflects her fascination with the concept of racialized beauty in Japanese anime and anti-racist aesthetics, which she portrays through her depictions of Asian beauties and goddesses. Born in Seoul in 1991, Park made her way to America in 2000 to pursue English studies and education, later attending Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville, TN during her high school years. Her passion for art led her to the Art Students League of NY, where she honed her skills before earning her BFA in Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts in 2020.

In addition to her artistic pursuits, Park is known for her creation of an art auction card game called ArtBid, showcasing her innovative approach to the art world. She also founded the Emerging Artists Collective website, where she conducts interviews with other emerging artists, fostering a sense of community within the creative sphere. Currently, she is pursuing her MFA in Fine Arts Studio as a thesis candidate at the Rochester Institute of Technology, further expanding her knowledge and skills in the field. Park's work is a reflection of her unique perspective and experiences, blending elements of identity, beauty, and culture.

For those looking to add a touch of creativity and depth to their living or working spaces, Chunbum Park's prints are an ideal choice.
