Ronald P. Rakowski

Ronald Rakowski, a native of the Mohawk Valley and Adirondacks, has been painting watercolor scenes for over thirty years. While mostly self-taught, he has drawn inspiration from renowned watercolor artists like Ralph Murray, Don Getz, Willard Sauter, and Edward Cristianna. His work has been featured in prestigious exhibitions such as the Adirondacks National Exhibition of American Watercolors and the Lake Placid Center for the Arts Winter Show.

Rakowski has received numerous accolades for his talent, including Best in Show at the Kirkland Arts Center Four by Four show and twice at the Old Forge Library's "Poetry and Illustration" event. He has also been selected into the Masters Division of the Central Adirondack Art Show. His paintings have been displayed in solo shows at the Old Forge Library and have been featured in local publications like "localADK" magazine.

Maintaining a studio in his home in Old Forge, Rakowski also has a smaller unit in the village where he handles the matting and framing of his artwork. One of his pieces, "Mighty Mite TV," was selected as the painting of the month for December 2023 in the View Arts calendar. For those looking to add a touch of the Adirondacks to their home or office decor, purchasing prints of Rakowski's watercolor scenes is a must.
