Colorado artist Rick Adleman is renowned for his focus on the nature and history of the Southwest United States, particularly his illustrations of the dinosaur Utahraptor ostrommaysorum. His work has been featured in prestigious publications such as Time magazine, the New York Times, and various other publications, and can be found in public and private collections across the United States and Mexico. Adleman's artistic journey has been shaped by his education under renowned mentors such as Dick Doherty, Don Meyers, Robert T. Bakker, Ph.D., and George Callison.

With a wealth of experience as a scientific illustrator for the Dinamation International Society from 1992 to 1999, as well as a freelance artist since 1985, Adleman has honed his craft and garnered recognition for his exceptional talent. His work has been showcased in numerous exhibitions, including the nationally juried 2019 FOUND: A CMU Alumni Art & Design Show at 437CO Gallery in Grand Junction, CO, and the celebrated Dinosaur Day event at Dinosaur Journey in Fruita, CO. In 1995, he participated in a group exhibition at Devils Canyon Science and Learning Center in Fruita, CO, and was part of the Artist’s Alpine Holiday juried show hosted by the Ouray County Arts Association.

Over the years, Adleman has received accolades for his work, including being named in the Mobile Art Academy National Top 100 at the mDAC Summit in 2017. His art can be found in esteemed collections at institutions such as the Dinosaur Journey Museum in Fruita, CO, Colorado Mesa University's Tomlinson Library, and the Museums of Western Colorado in Grand Junction, CO. Additionally, his work adorns private collections in locations ranging from Mexico to Montana.
