Sometimes your submitted scanned pictures may not always be in true black
and white.
Some old photos may have a sepia tone while others may have a bluefish hue.
If you want
your print to be true black and white, please indicate this in the comments
section toward the end when you order.
Color Profiles for Digital Images
The recommended color profile for submitted files is RGB. If an image
is provided with a different color profile than RGB such as CMYK the production
system will likely convert images to RGB.
CMYK is not necessary for digital printing and not
recommended unless you plan on having prints made via a non-digital process.
Image File Formats
The recommended image file formats are JPGs and TIFs however we can accept
PSD, BMP and EPS. For ease of use, we recommend converting any non-jpgs to
a hi-quality jpeg. If you do have a hi-quality jpeg try not to open and resave
the jpeg too many times since this can result in a loss of file quality each
time the image is saved. It is best to have one master copy in an uncompressed
format like a TIF and then save to a JPG when it is time to upload.
Make sure that your image file is either a rasture image or if a vector, then
make sure that your vector file has a background object matching the dimensions
of your image file since your document size may not translate when we rasturize
your image file.
