I am primarily interested in creating images which work in some way toward healing the anxieties imposed on modern humanity by the cultural situation we find ourselves in.
I am a great defender of digital art mediums - whether photography or digital paintings. All my "paintings" begin with drawings which are later scanned into a computer- so they are all original drawings. However the medium of digitally coloring them on the computer and saving them as digital files allows for a greater degree of control over the finished product. When considering "digital painting" one should not dismiss the involvement of the artist with his/her work. Just because it is "digital" does not mean that the image simply magically appears on the screen - or that it does not involve the same asthetic sensibilty as any other medium.
CONCERNING LIMITED EDITION DIGITAL PRINTS
Some of my works displayed on this website are limited edition giclees (pronounced zee-clays). The images you see on the website are encoded and can be tracked on the internet to prevent unauthorized use. Once the limited editions have been purchased, original images are destroyed and the encoded images are removed from the website. Just as in printmaking the plates are destroyed after a limited run. When you purchase a print, I will send you a card upon request which certifies the sequence number of the print signed by me, thus assuring authenticity.
